Company Guidelines

COMPANY PHILOSOPHY
New Castle Regional Ballet admits dancers of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to dancers in the Company.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in administration of its admission policies, educational policies, scholarships and loan programs and other Company-administered programs.



ARTISTIC DIRECTOR'S VISION

A professional program using dance as the vehicle to teach children respect, commitment, honesty, teamwork, and discipline.  To educate a child's mind, body, and to develop character on a professional level that will be useful in aspects of their life whether or not they choose dance as a profession. 



COMPANY BENEFITS - ALL PROGRAMS

-Most costumes furnished for Company performances. Some costumes may need to be purchased by dancer. Company does not provide basics, i.e., tights, leotards, shoes, camisoles, trunks.  Any non-company dancer will pay a costume fee if utilizing a company costume.  Costume fee is $75. 

-Professional choreography is free to company members.  A choreography fee will be paid by non-company dancers.  Choreography fee is $200.  There will not be a separate ballet for non-company dancers wishing to participate in the spring performance.
 

-Professional guest teachers' fees will be reduced for company dancers.  Non-company dancers will pay a guest teacher's fee.  This fee will be determined at the time of service.
 

-Two paid performances sponsored by the Company giving dancers the chance to grow artistically.  Rehearsal fees will be waived for company dancers.  Rehearsal fees for non-company dancers will be assessed at a rate of $35 for the Nutcracker and $20 for the spring performance.
 

-Use of Company costumes by dancers for events which promote the dancer, as well as the Company.  Dancer must receive Board of Directors' approval and must return costume in condition received. 

-Scholarships - Conferences with Artistic Director will be held for dancers and upon request.
 



RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS

• Provide transportation home from classes and rehearsals within fifteen minutes of ending time.

ust have permission from Artistic Director to observe any class or rehearsal conducted by guest teachers/choreographers.

•A
re not to question the roles assigned by the Artistic Director or choreographers.

•
Parents must understand that the purpose of all company publicity, including the photographs used for performance programs, is to advertise the Company, not an individual dancer.

•H
ave the right to discuss any concerns they may have with the Artistic Director or with a member of the Board of Directors as it relates to their own child. Discussions regarding other dancers will not be entertained. 

• M
ust volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per season of their time.  Volunteer hours will be monitored by the Board of Directors. (Parents/Guardians who do not meet the 10 hour minimum will be assessed a fine per service hour not met)

• Parents/Guardians are responsible to see that dancers meet all class requirements and fundraising requirements.  The fundraising scholarship monies will not be rewarded to any dancer who has not met all obligations as outlined in the guidelines.
